Borussia Dortmund - Sabah FK: head to head and statistics

Sabah FK - Borussia Dortmund, 20 Oct 2026

Two goals from Serhou Guirassy earned Borussia Dortmund a 2–1 win away at Sabah FK on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League, but the Germans made hard work of it at the Baku Olympic Stadium and wasted several chances.

Guirassy opened the scoring in the 10th minute, tapping in the rebound after goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov parried a shot from Felix Nmecha. Sabah, who had a goal from Joy-Lance Mickels ruled out for offside, levelled in the 39th minute when Aden McCarthy headed in from six yards from a free kick delivered by Tymoteusz Puchacz. Dortmund came out sharper after the break and went ahead again in the 53rd minute, when Guirassy fired a first-time left-footed shot into the net. McCarthy made another important block to keep Guirassy at bay, while Dortmund’s substitutes, including Jobe Bellingham, created chances that Fábio Silva spurned.

The result gives Dortmund three points, while Sabah, who lost to Dortmund after beating Slavia Praha 2–0 on matchday two, were left to rue a few late half-chances.
